OBIEE 11.1.1.7 How do remove select Value Option ‘----‘for Prompt?

Issue

In OBIEE 11.1.1.7 for each prompt there is an empty space value option, and once we select the empty space it displays as - -Select Value - -. This seems to be problem with OBIEE 11.1.1.7 version only.  The screen snapshot shown below shows the two states, one with the Empty Space option and other with - -Select Value – display.  Is it a feature of 11.1.1.7? If so what it is for?  How to resolve it? 

Solution

I don’t think it is feature. It can be resolved by selecting configuration option on the prompt definition.  In short by choosing option … we can get rid of the issue. The screen snapshot for the parameter selection for prompt and output display when it is done is shown below.
